American Tobacco Trail: If you enjoy walking or riding bicycles in an off road environment, the American Tobacco Trail has several connecting areas where your whole family can enjoy fresh air and kinship. The paths are solid surface and the pathway is treelined and leafy, shaded and cool in the summer months. Jordan Lake Recreation and Camping: Jordan Lake is a great place to pack a tent and spend the week end or just pack a picnic or cookout. Umstead Park: William B Umstead Park is has some lovely areas to hike. It is quite undulating and in some areas you do need to be more sure footed.
